Side By Side Shawl

I don't wear shawls. I don't wear neon colors unless I'm cycling outside and trying to avoid getting hit by a car. So why in the world would I knit a lime green shawl?! Knit shawl using Vera Valimeki Sidebyside pattern

M7591 Summer Cotton Jersey Dress and Costa Maya Knit Flyaway Cardigan

Sewing McCalls M7591 pattern for summer jersey knit dress
This is going to be a two-part post starting with the dress. This is McCall's 7591 pattern view C. It's a pullover dress with elastic waist for stretch knits and looks like it can be dressed up or down depending on the fabric and accessories. When the pattern first came out, what drew me to it was the keyhole neck detail.

Simplicity 2054 Sweatshirt Dress

Handmade sweatshirt dress using Simplicity 2054 sewing pattern
I actually made this sweatshirt dress last year and took a few pictures, but didn't get around to posting it. I forgot about it until last month since it's too warm to wear in Texas most of the year, but wanted to write my review in case someone is still thinking of making up this pattern.

First Sweater

I took a bit of a blogging break, but I'm back. I did my first Ironman triathlon (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run) race last summer and the training left very little time for my other hobbies. I finished a few small projects, but they weren't worth blogging about. I've done a fair share of knitting in the last few months though and want to share a few of the projects. This is my first full sweater.

Lonsdale Dresses

Before I sew up a few of the new spring patterns I just bought, I wanted to make a few more of my planned stash busting projects. Sewaholic Lonsdale is a perfect dress for that because it calls for 3-4 yards of fabric. Actually, that's part of the reason the pattern was sitting in my stash because I hardly ever buy more than 2yd of any fabric. However, I really liked Lauren's version from years ago and bought some rayon challis with this dress in mind.

Simplicity 1716 Cowl Neck Top and Dress

Simplicity 1716 is came out a few years ago and I'm pretty sure it was the first big 4 knit pattern I made. I didn't blog at that point so I when I pulled out the pattern again for Pattern Review Serger and Coverstitch Contest, I figured I may as well write a full post on. The pattern itself has 2 different neck variations, but I like the cowl version.
